Have you experienced harassment due to a mental health problem?
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is undertaking an Inquiry into disability-related harassment and how well this is currently being addressed by public authorities. You can help them by submitting your evidence of harassment. Visit the EHRC website for further information.
The Public Attitudes Survey in 2008 found that 3% of people with experience of mental health problems have expererienced verbal abuse in public, and 3% have experience physical abuse in public. It is also very worrying that the same percentage of people had experience the two types of abuse within the family. 'see me' encourages friends, family and colleagues to be supportive when anyone close to them experiences mental health problems. But this of course also applies to everyone else as well!
