Tell Your Stigma Story

The campaign uses people's personal experiences to drive home the reality of stigma. This section of the ‘see me’ site allows you to tell us your own experiences of stigma as a result of your mental health problem. Whether you would like to write a couple of sentences or a couple of pages we want to hear your story. It is up to you how much and what detail you contribute! In some instances, and with your permission, ‘see me’ may publish stories or use quotes that we receive on this site.

We are not able to use all contributions, however we may wish to use part of your contribution on this website. Stories are posted using only the first name, so they cannot be traced back to the sender. It's fine to give a false name if you prefer.

Email your story here. With your permission, and using a first name only, 'see me' will publish some of the stories we receive on this site. 'see me' is unable to give direct advice and support to people with mental health problems and those experiencing stigma/discrimination, however there are a variety of organisations/agencies that have expertise in these areas. Please click here for information and contact details for organisations appropriate to your needs. If you need urgent help, or someone to talk to please contact one of these organisations.
