Scots urged to get creative as 'see me' launches new 10K small grants scheme

‘see me' - Scotland's national campaign to end stigma and discrimination around mental ill-health - is launching a new Small Grants Scheme and is calling on the people of Tayside, Lanarkshire, Shetland and Orkney to get involved.

The ‘see me' Small Grants Scheme is awarding up to £5,000 to local groups in the aforementioned health board areas, who can come up with fresh, innovative and exciting ideas to tackle stigma and discrimination associated with mental health.

The grant scheme aims to encourage local organisations to take a lead in changing public attitudes and behaviours towards people with mental health problems.  Any type of project can be considered as long as it is led by people with experience of mental ill-health or those providing care and support.

A second pool of funding, to be shared by projects within Tayside, Lanarkshire, Shetland and Orkney health board areas has also been arranged. The Equality Award of £5,000, will be awarded to a successful organisation celebrating diversity whilst tackling the mental health and stigma issues faced by a particular groups or groups of people.
